Description: This lovely North Africa note is rich in history and even more stunning in its overall appearance. These notes were issued at a time during World War II when U.S. soldiers were fighting in North Africa during Operation Torch. These notes were issued as payment for the American soldiers, but due to fears of an enemy takeover, they were issued with a special yellow seal, so that in the event the currency were to be confiscated by enemy forces, it would immediately be canceled. These notes also circulated around Sicily when soldiers were stationed there as well around the same time. This is a fantastic piece of American, and even world history, that would make a truly great addition to your numismatic collection. Note has a small ink mark on the left side of the obverse, and some ink on the reverse.
