Description: These two original photo snapshots came from a box of prints taken on Okinawa in 1945, after its liberation by the Americans. They are in good collectible condition, with minor curling, but no damage. They show destroyed U.S. Army tanks, one a Sherman M4A4 with no turret, and the other unidentified. The Sherman has side art I can't quite identify, and 2 Japanese 'kills'. It reads "Battler, U.S. Army, 3099214". The other upside down tank has bottom numbers that look like 'E864B' and others I can't quite read. Both pics have 'Agfa' on the back. They were taken by James McClellan Litchfield (1925-2006), whose info was also in the box. He was from here in Wallowa Valley, Oregon, and is buried in Enterprise. His obit says he served in WW2 and Korea, but I could not find more information on him. One of the photos in the box shows him as part of a photography team in Okinawa. The photo measures 4-1/4" x 2-5/8". Please let the pics be your guide when bidding, as they are a major part of the description. Please email for more pics or information. I offer a full refund if not satisfied. Free U.S. 1st Class mailing for this item, so no tracking. International buyer must use Ebay shipping only. Thanks for looking!
