Description: Autographed Letter Signed By Samuel Longfellow, Sept. 8, 1869. 2 page letter written from Portland, Maine, concerning a marriage certificate that Longfellow was remiss in sending prior to the request made in this letter. He had just returned from a trip in Europe to his home in Cambridge (Mass). The matter of a fee, Longfellow believes was taken care of by a Col. McKaye. Letter is without cover, and was folded, apparently coming out of a bound lot of papers by the other correspondent. A fold goes through the "S" in his name. Overall in very good- fine condition. Longfellow was a well known American clergyman, brother of poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Track Page Views WithAuctiva's Counter
