Description: This 4-inch Scaphella Junonia shell, with heavy dark spotting, is a beautiful addition to any collection. The shell, measuring 101mm in diameter, was found empty in the Gulf of Mexico offshore Sanibel Island Florida while scuba diving in 100 feet of water. Shell has deep scar on outside lip, see photos, but shows great sign of healing by the mollusk that was inside. Probably eaten by an octopus. Not the perfect Junonia but definitely one to consider adding to your collection or giving as a gift, a hearty shell. Will ship or sell locally.
