Lilium formosanum has become naturalized in scattered locations in Africa, Australia, and the Americas. It grows between 2-8 feet tall and 12 inches wide. The trumpet flower can get between 8-12 inches long with a sweet smell from August through September. Deep green leaves are lance-shaped up 2-3 stiff stems. Keep out of windy areas. It prefers full sun to part shade with normal water needs. Zones 5-8 Germination Seeds are very thin and will need light to germinate. Scatter seeds in a flat of high-quality seed starting mix. Apply a light dusting of vermiculite and tap it down well. It is crucial for any seed to stay moist but not soggy until germination occurs.
