Description: EFFECTIVE 10/12/2024, I'VE DONE A LITTLE MORE CONDITIONING AND THIS LOOKS MORE "SEASONED" AND IS MORE FLEXIBLE. THE DARKER SHOTS PUT IN 10-12 REFLECT THE NEW, DARKER TONES, MORE SUPPLE FEEL. CUSTOM STUFF, EACH DONE INDIVIDUALLY. LEFT THE CONDITIONING ON THIS SOMEWHAT UNEVEN TO LOOK LIKE COMBAT EXTEMPORANEOUS STUFF. This is the second of these I've done, complete with sturdy, stable, fully curved G.I. style hooks, and I figured out a way to prorate the pricing. This is an especially conditioned premium, heavy weight, heavy duty M1907 sling, NEATSFOOT "fatigued" and fitted with brand new, traditional style continuously curved, authentically styled, more stable blackened steel hooks and product-improved rivets. MORE OIL CONDITIONER COULD MAKE THE LEATHER MORE UNIFORM, OR LEAVE AS IS TO LOOK "SLIGHTLY WORN IN". Hint: the more conditioned the leather, the easier the rather BRUTAL hook adjustment process will be! Many folks sharpen points and edge relieve the hooks, too. As far as I know, no one else offers these or anything like it. They're at least as good as others at nearly twice the price, and a good stand-in for a fragile original, which SHOULD NEVER BE USED ON A VALUABLE RIFLE. They tend to snap. Note the miscellaneous images, soldiers and rifles are NOT included. They're here to establish context and help with threading the strap. This is set up to be stable and last a very long time, and especially to look authentic. However, the curved hooks--infinitely more stable!!--may require a tool or special "puckering"--USUALLY BOTH!!-- to seat the first time. That is why many infantryman sharpened theirs to a razor's edge! Still, for any rifle from 1942 or after, or any with 1 1/4" swivels, this looks vintage at less than a third the price of a fragile original!! I have only one like this, of this pattern, right now, will soon be set up to create more.
