Description: *Official* Player Issued Jersey for #2 Viv Anderson at the 1982 World Cup in Spain. Vivian Anderson is a legendary British footballer who played for Nottingham Forest, Arsenal, Manchester United, Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley and Middlesbrough in the 1970s, 80s and 90s. Viv is also legendary for being the first black football player to represent England in a full international match. In 2000, Viv Anderson was awarded an MBE (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for services to football; in 2004 he was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame. This jersey was given to me by my Uncle (who worked at Admiral) when we visited Leicester from the US in the summer of 1983. He said it was an extra jersey produced by accident for the 1982 World Cup. The 1982 World Cup in Spain was England’s first World Cup in 12 years, and the first they qualified for since 1962. But despite the hype and a team filled with a host of household names, it ultimately ended in disappointment as Ron Greenwood's side crashed out of the tournament without losing a game. Jersey details: Size: Small Official Admiral patch, England crest and #2 all stitched onto the jersey Armpit to Armpit: 17.5 inches (44.7 cm) As the pic shows, there are 2 small (~ 1/8 inch) areas on the front of the shirt where the interior has faded away, though the exterior of the shirt is fine. *** It's not a hole since it's not open to the outside of the shirt*** Happy to answer all questions.
