For the driver side you can access the clip from the engine bay if you don't have those aftermarket side covers. Open the hood and look between the engine bay and fender, near the headlights and you can see the side marker. If you can fit your arm or hand, you remove it by pulling on the clip with your finger (toward the front of the car, because if you were doing this from the wheel well, you would push the clip in toward the front of the car).
