Description: A vintage, possibly 1930s Chinese handcarved i.e. treen camphor wood storage box with a length of approximately 9.75 in (248 mm) long, a width of 5.5 in (140 mm) and standing 5 in (127 mm) high.It has features of the Art Deco period with a stepped Odeon style shape and sun beam style decoration to the front. The box has various figures in landscapes with sailing boats and houses to the lid and front with simpler carved decoration to thesides and rear.The lid opens on 2 brass higes and has an additional foding brass strut to one side with a folding brass clasp to the front (no lock provided.It is in very good condition overall with only minor signs of wear commensurate with age and use which do not detract at all.A lovely box for someones collection, display or use etc........
