Description: Up for auction is a Wheaton Ware condiment jar in pattern “Golden Wheat.” The condiment jar was produced by the Wheaton Glass Company of Millville, N.J in the late 1970s as part of a line marketed as "Wheaton ware cerama pottery opal glass accessories." In company brochures the line was described as "soft bone ivory color, faintly translucent and almost indistinguishable from some of the finest china yet is glass fused under high temperature of lasting beauty." The line included the use of 24-karat gold painted in bands across the pieces. This condiment jar is in great used condition with no chips or cracks (see pictures). There is some wear to the gold paint on the raised edge near the top of the jar and at the base of the lid final. The gold paint is an accent, so the wear isn’t pronounced (see pictures of all 4 sides). The “Golden Wheat” design on the front and back of the jar is intact. Note: The picture of the inside of the jar shows was limited due to lighting. The inside is as bright and shiny as the outside. Size: Approximately 3 ¼ inches diameter with a 4 ½ inches height. Thanks for looking!
