Description: Up for sale here is this recap kit for the Wurlitzer 501, 503, or 504 amplifier, found in the 750, 780, 850, 950, 1015, and 1080 jukebox. At this point the amp is around 80 years old, and the old capacitors are weak and failing. We will make them new again! This kit includes replacement electrolytic and film capacitors to replace all of the old electrolytic, can, wax, paper, bumblebee, and molded capacitors. It also includes instructions to explain how to install everything. The instructions will also go over some basics for working on tube gear. This does not include any tubes or other capacitors or resistors. New caps are Supertech axial electrolytics and Supertech MPT film capacitors--you will get the exact parts shown in the picture. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts, the same parts I use when I work on vintage gear. The parts included are mostly exact uf replacements, some of which you can't really find anywhere else. I don't think anyone else is offering axial .006 uf film caps, for example. The axial 0.3 uf cap is replaced with a new 0.33 uf cap, the axial 20 uf 150v cap is replaced with a 22 uf 160v, and the two .00075 uf caps are replaced with .001 uf caps, at least until I get some 750 pf caps custom-made. These mostly go higher in voltage compared to the originals--the film caps are 630v, and the electrolytics are 50v, 160v, and 450v. There are axial capacitors to replace the can capacitors--just disconnect the can and wire in the axial caps under the chassis. Nice and easy. There are also two terminal strips to make it easier to mount the individual caps. I will include surprisingly well-written instructions (with a link to download a blurry schematic), but rebuilding tube gear is somewhat complicated, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron. This kit will not fix everything that could be wrong with your equipment, but it will certainly help. US shipping and handling is $5, and international is $18, no matter what quantity you buy.
